The Founder's Character Sheet

Hello adventurer! I offer you a warm welcome to Lucky Leaf Teas!

If you are anything like me, you love three things: Tabletop RPGs, Teas, and the stories we tell together.

I first started playing Tabletop roleplaying games when I was 16, and (as is tradition) was taught by someone older than me who actually had the money to buy all the books and materials that I, a young, world-terrified and socially anxious teenager, could not.

The Collaborative Story

Before I knew it, I had put together a group of other like-minded friends who wanted to delve into dungeons, defeat dragons and save the day. My very first game was a bare-bones campaign of Pathfinder (the name I'd actually later know it as, because I just knew it as "The Game" back then).

My players were all new, none of us knew what we were doing, the maps were drawn in my left-hand scrawl with dry erase markers on graph paper, and at one point I had to double the health of an enemy mid-battle because I had no clue how to balance a fight.

It was glorious.

For The Love of Tea

But where does the tea come in?

While tea can be enjoyed on your own, to provoke thoughts and fantasy, it's also true that it can be as much a collaborative experience as playing at a table together. We "take tea" together, serve one another cups and converse, build our relationships with one another over a shared treat and shared stories.

Long nights of studying, writing and campaign preperation throughout the years led me to dig deeper into the beautiful, reliable cup of tea that had kept me company throughout it all.

My first job in tea was in a tiny tea shop which could barely fit two people. It was there that I started learning the stories behind the various leaves and flavours, everything from taste to texture and terroir. I was absolutely fascinated. I could picture these stories with each sip.

And from then on, when I would write those campaigns, I'd start to ask myself questions. What would that warrior drink before battle to prepare? What brew would steady the nerves of the investigator on the brink of unknown horror? If I distilled the nature of a dragon's hoard, what would that taste like?

Our Story Begins...

Lucky Leaf Teas is my adventure to answer those questions.

But of course, every story needs a happy ending. So I make sure that each and every one of our teas is grown, picked and produced ethically and sustainably. Our stories are told best when we tell them together, and when we make sure that there's plenty of room for even more stories in the future.

So, GMs, Players, Writers and my fellow lovers of Taste and Tale, I simply ask: Shall we go on an adventure together?
